Namushka Fishing Adventure

Fishing is why Namushka Lodge was born. Cruise around Harding lake in our 16′ aluminum fishing boats or the 22’ pontoon boat. Or try your hand at fly fishing from our new kayaks or paddle boards (which has become very popular). The lake provides an unforgettable adventure in fishing for lake trout, northern pike and whitefish. Within an easy and pleasant 5 min walk from the shores of Harding Lake guests have access to good walleye (pickerel) fishing at another secluded but smaller lake. In early summer, daylight never fades. So at midnight if you wish you could still be out on the quiet shimmering waters of Harding Lake. We encourage our guests to use barbless hooks so they may release unharmed the many fish they may not keep, barbless hooks are NWT government regulation.

Namushka Eco-Adventure

The Northwest Territories, in addition to being a fisherman’s paradise, offers the non-fishing visitor and outdoor enthusiast a variety of other activities. This includes bird watching, rock hounding, photography, canoeing, a game of horseshoes or stay inside and enjoy a game of cards or board games with family and friends. You may wish to take time to observe the bald eagles nesting on the rocky cliffs, or enjoy the enchanting cry of the loons as you canoe/ kayak/ paddle board the shores of Harding Lake. From late summer on, as the night darkens, you may have the opportunity to be entertained by the dancing colours of the magnificent northern lights.

Business Day or Weekend Tours

Just in town on a business trip? Spend an extra day with us at Namushka Lodge and try your hand at catching some northern pike, whitefish or lake trout. Take a float plane flight in early A.M., have continental breakfast on the lodge deck and go fishing for the day. The host would make arrangements to meet at a designated location for shore lunch, continue your fishing and return to the lodge for dinner. Your flight back to Yellowknife would complete your adventure.

Remember to bring warm clothing as the northern evening, though sunny, can be cool. For your safety we provide life jackets, two-way radios and a first aid kit in your boat. Also a radio phone is available for urgent communication from the lodge to the outside world.
